About
Dr Regardt van Vuuren
I qualified as a dentist (B.Ch.D) at the University of the Western Cape in 2011. Then I did further study and earned a post-graduate diploma in Minor Oral Surgery and a certification in Oral Implantology.
I enjoy offering the usual services one expects from a dentist (fillings, scale and polish, dentures, crown and bridge work, etc), but the work I really find exciting is minor oral surgery like extractions and root canals. I worked with a maxillofacial surgeon for two years, which taught me a lot about some of the more complex dental procedures. This is an area I intend developing with more post-graduate studies.
My work philosophy is to practise conservative dentistry, which is about being as non-invasive as possible and working to restore tooth structure rather than doing unnecessary procedures. I know that many people are nervous about doing to a dentist, so it's my mission to make their visit as comfortable as possible using my 'gentle touch' approach combined with safe and modern dental practices.
In my free time, I relax with PlayStation games, ride my mountain bike, and take care of my cats and pet tarantulas.
